Glasgow is about to get a heavy dose of music crammed into two of its favourite city centre venues this October with The Day of Music Festival announcement hitting social media last week. This was closely followed by the first line-up which includes local bands Megalomanic and Banshee alongside headlining alt-rockers Mallory Knox.
The festival is to be held across Nice N Sleazy and next door neighbours Broadcast, which means there won’t be much in the way of travel to go between venues if there is a clash in set times for revellers looking to get in on the action. Both Sleazy’s and Broadcast are considered the breeding grounds for up and coming bands as well being an intimate selection for secret and low-key gigs put on by brand-name bands over the years.
Here’s what the organisers have to say about the surprise festival;
“A Day Of Music Festival brings you something slightly different to Glasgow’s favourite street. Local live music promoters HD Music and Ola Tortuga have teamed up to deliver a new festival to Sauchiehall Street venues Nice N Sleazy & Broadcast.”
“Born from a shared desire to bring bigger acts back to their roots in 2 of Glasgow’s most well known underground venues, the festival aims to bring a host of touring acts across multiple genres on the 2 stages.”
“We’re pleased to share our first line up announcement: Mallory Knox (Headliner), Colossal Squid, Megalomatic, Banshee & Canal Capitale. More to come soon!”
So, keep an eye out for further lineup announcements on the usual socials; @adayoffestival
