With summer around the corner we like a nice sunny song here a Musicscramble HQ. And so, it’s with shades on and smiles all round we stick on the new single from Sunderland based trio Loudmammoth.
‘Let Go’ bursts through the speakers with the off-kilter rhythm of The Sugarcubes, the dreamy glissy guitars of Orange Juice and the sublime lead vocal of Rachel Cowell sounding like the love child of Siouxsie Sioux and Traceyanne Campbell. This is a winning combination and is going to earn this band a loyal following.
Whilst the band have all these touch points, they have made a sound all of their own. The glitchy keyboards and jangly guitar play off each other beautifully. The drums remind me of some of my favourite Pavement songs too. Check out the song here.

‘Let Go’ is out on 28th June 2019 on Last Night From Glasgow.
