Cloud of Starlings – New York EP

Coming almost three years after the release of EP1, Cloud of Starlings New York EP is a storming return.

The Helensburgh rockers, now a streamlined three-piece, have put together an epic four tracks of classic rock that soars, roars and will have you dancing and singing along.

Released this coming Saturday (on 9th March) – to coincide with a launch night in Glasgow’s Hug & Pint – the EP kicks off with raucous title track ‘New York’ screaming out of your speakers, all blaring sirens and screaming guitars. It’s a fantastic track that is pure energetic fun and the instant stand-out of the four songs.

‘Lesson Learned’ might be altogether more serious than the opener but there is depth and layers here that make this an 80’s-style rock epic. The classic rock vibe continues through ‘Like A Stone’ and fans of Free or Bad Company will find something they like here.  Closing track ‘Do It Again’, with its rolling drums and looping guitar is a methodical rocker that pays homage to classic early 90’s rock.

The New York EP showcases everything Cloud Of Starlings are good at. There is energy, soul and joy in these tracks. It is available on all major streaming services from 9th March and for purchase on slimline USB on the same date.

Get yourself along to the launch party at the Hug and Pint. Entry is free, with a suggested donation to SAMH. Support on the night comes from The Drop and Jonnie Wallace

Indie kid at his core but has been known to love anything with a beat. Sucker for a slide guitar a catchy chorus. Happiest with a beer at a gig.
