Start Static – Need the Rush

Start Static make their return and state their intentions clearly with latest single ‘Need the Rush’. Released hours ahead of their hometown show at Glasgow’s Garage Attic, in support of Twin Wild, it is quite possibly their best effort yet.

Upbeat from the start, Steve “Tap” Murray’s spiky guitar tone leads the way for John Allan to come in with his trademark punchy vocal. Both compliment each other in the building verse which finally gives way to another catchy chorus that is fast becoming a trademark of the bubbly Glaswegian characters. Chris on bass and Michael on drums finally come to the fore in the breakdown that’ll be the catalyst for many an impromptu dance-off.

‘Need the Rush’ typifies Start Static’s style and character. If ever there was a song to reflect its creators, it is this. Start Static’s goal in life is to create music that gets fans dancing about and joining in with the gang-vocal choruses and they can put a tick in that box right now.
