We Came From Wolves – Places Unfamiliar

We Came From Wolves have released the official video for latest single ‘Places Unfamiliar’. To the dark and dingy, red-lit backdrop of a pub and derelict living space we’re driven through just over three minutes of the catchy, anthemic hooks we’ve come to expect. The Streets of Rage intro gives way to a melodic and undulating story that is quite possibly reflective of the fortunes in which the band has had to overcome to get to where they are now.

Frontman and founding member Kyle Burgess touched on the single along with what it means to be back writing, playing and touring again in our recent catch up before this year’s Scottish Alternative Music Awards, a year on from their Best Alt/Rock win. Taking the lyrics of the song and the meaning behind them at face value, Kyle looks to be touching on how serious he and the rest of the gang are in getting their names to the top of a musical pile under which so many bands have fallen.

The band have been through a lot since this time last year but are showing the signs of promise which saw them land their SAMA win and this video gives us another glimpse of a lineup that’s been the focus of a wholesale change. We Came From Wolves are back doing what they love and we’re reaping the benefit of what seems to be a fresh new start. See for yourselves.
