I was lucky enough to get a chance to photograph the rather brilliant Izzy Bizu as she traced a tour of the UK in support to Foxes.
A singer / songwriter with Ethiopian and English parents, this South Londoner’s rich cultural tapestry has informed her writing, and coming on stage to an already busy venue Izzy wasted no time in getting the crowd on side as we listened to her take on the musical influences of Ella Fitzgerald and Amy Winehouse.
Whilst enjoying the light, breezy, and infectious tinge of indie to round out her sound it doesn’t take long to notice her amazing voice. Having recently wowed the crowd on Jools Holland’s Later show and the summer festival circuit she has honed her craft to mesmerising levels.
A gallery of photos from the show is below, and with recently announced shows in January to complement her support slots and already sold out headline show in London, this is a girl you should get out and see for yourselves.
