Sunset Sons make anthemic, propulsive indie-rock and are destined to be one of the breakthrough acts of 2015.
As well as featuring on the BBC Sound of 2015 shortlist they are one of MTV Brand New’s and XFM Great X-Pectations’ tips for the year and have been widely tipped across the media.
The band are based in the idyllic French town of Hossegor and came together through a shared love of surfing. They cut their teeth playing riotous rock’n’roll shows to a rowdy snowboarding crowd in the French Alps. “We played loads of very raucous shows up there during winter,” says Rob. “It helped us get tight.” They started out playing covers but soon they were dropped in favour of the group’s own material as crowds grew.
We caught them in King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow on the eve of the release of their third EP, The Fall Line, to watch their live set. Our exclusive photo gallery of the show is below.
