The Subways are back with a new single.
Written, produced and mixed by the band’s singer Billy Lunn, the single is released to mark 10 years since they won the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition as an unsigned act, all aged just 17. I have always been a fan of their straight-forward poppy-rock, with their last album Money and Celebrity my album of the year in 2011.
This is the first new material since Money and Celebrity (review here) and has a very similar vibe. Talking about the song Billy said, “I wrote this track after I recently resolved a difficulty in my life as I was surrounded by the pulsing beats of my favourite songs and a throng of complete strangers crashing around the dance floor. Music has a wonderful power to heal wounds.”
