SAY Awards 2014 Longlist

SAY-awardSAY Award is a prestigious prize developed by the Scottish Music Industry Association to celebrate, promote and reward outstanding Scottish artist albums released in the previous calendar year.  The SAY Award promotes a longlist of twenty albums which, in turn, is reduced to a shortlist of ten in advance of the award ceremony when the winner is announced.

This year’s longlist has just been announced and it is a cracker. I must admit to being a little biased when I look at the list given that my 2013 Top 3 albums all appear. Not only does the list include Musicscramble favourite Roddy Hart, CHVRCHES and Biffy Clyro, there are also some other fantastic albums in there including Frightened Rabbit, Mogwai and Edwyn Collins. Not to mention the 2013 winner RM Hubbert!

I haven’t heard all these albums, but I want to. If like me, and you want to hear them then you can through the SAY Award website with their album of the day feature. The shortlist will be announced on the 29th of May before the award ceremony itself on June 19th. Musicscramble will be at the event once again and will of course share the results with you.

Which album would you vote for?
