Fatherson are quite simply a band you must hear. The Glasgow-based four-piece have been making a name for themselves for the past couple of years; building a loyal local fanbase in their hometown of Kilmarnock which spread quickly through to Glasgow and the wider musical community. Their infectious, anthemic sound has landed them support slots with bands including Frightened Rabbit, Panic! At the Disco, Twin Atlantic and Idlewild. With comparisons to Scotland’s top acts from Biffy Clyro to Frightened Rabbit, this is a band that has enormous mass-appeal.
With two singles already under their belt (‘Hometown’ and ‘First Born’) the band have both a new single and a debut album to announce. Both of which you should be massively excited about. Already a highlight when played live, new single ‘I Like Not Knowing’ showcases the melodic, infectious sing-along sound that the band’s fans go wild for. If the single below is a taster for the album then it’ll be very special indeed.
Their much-anticipated debut album I Am An Island is released on the 7th of April. Supporting their album release the band will be main support for one of 2014’s most highly-touted bands Lonely The Brave where they will perform throughout January and February over nine nights across the UK. You can also catch Ross performing a solo acoustic set at King Tuts on the 26th of January.
