Clive Burr RIP (1957 – 2013)

There was sad news announced today that Clive Burr – original drummer with Iron Maiden – has passed away. He was 56.

He had publicly battled with MS for many years since his diagnosis. Iron Maiden continued to stay close with Clive throughout his illness and staged a series of charity concerts to support him, including becoming involved in the founding of the Clive Burr MS Trust Fund.

He joined Iron Maiden from Samson (who Bruce Dickinson originally sang with) in 1979 and remained there until 1982 when the touring schedule became too much. He played on their first three albums, Iron Maiden, Killers, and Number of the Beast.

Take a moment and watch the video below of the man in action.
