New Band Spotlight: Four Nights Gone

Four Nights Gone Band ShotKeeping up the international bands theme, we’re headed off to the United States for our next group of up and comers. Say hello to Four Nights Gone.

Who are you and where do you hail from?

We’re Four Nights Gone, a hard rock band from Staten Island, NY.

Please introduce the band members.

Damian LaRocco – Vocals/Rhythm Guitar, Imran Xhelili – Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals, Alex Basovskiy – Bass Guitar/Backing Vocals, Steven “Lobes” Romano – Drums/Percussion.

How would you describe your sound?

Alternative Hard Rock. A mix of bands like Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace and Papa Roach with our own twist on it.

How difficult is it for a band based in New York to break out from the local scene?

It’s hard to break out of any scene really, because you get used to playing in one area to your supportive friends, gfs and family. Then you play in a totally new place and you have to wow people and make a good first impression on them, since its the first time many of them are seeing you.

Who are your biggest influences?

Breaking Benjamin, 10 Years, Thrice, Tool. We all have different influences but those are some of the main ones.

People will like your music because…

We try to make music that ourselves would like, as listeners of music. We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel, we’re just trying to make some good hard rock music that people can connect to and enjoy.

Internet comments and responses to “Crash and Burn” in particular are very positive.

What’s been your favourite track from the EP so far? We like them all for different reasons but it’s probably tied between “My Last Call” and “Scared To Breathe”.

Best gig you’ve played so far?

Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. Place was packed full of our screaming fans and security was really uptight at the moshpits and controlling everyone haha. Plus we got really cool backstage treatment

What do you consider the bands greatest achievement to date?

Playing Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square was definitely a big moment for us. How many people have actually discovered our music online due to social media websites like Twitter and Youtube, and the amount of people actually willing to pay for our music and merchandise.

America is a massive country with many differing cultures depending on where you go. Have you had the chance to travel much outside of your locale?

We haven’t started touring yet. We’ve played a few shows in PA and Jersey which were totally different from the music scene in NY and Staten Island and we’re definitely excited to tour, to see totally new fans and different lifestyles and cultures.

How important do you find social networking and the Internet as a source for promoting and communicating with your fans?

Incredibly important. It’s 2012 and more than ever people are waiting to discover new music and find it right at their fingertips. Playing shows of course is still important, but staying in touch with your fans and meeting/talking with them over social media brings you so much closer.
